One of SLDN's first initiatives is the Sierra Leone Investment Information Portal (SLIIP).
About SLIIP
SLIIP is an information portal which was borne out of
various consultations with the Sierra Leonean Diaspora, and
responds to the need for investment information on Sierra
Leone from a Diasporan perspective, which remains
unavailable from other sources.
Sponsored by DFID and supported by the reputable
AfricaRecruit, the web-based information service will be
aimed at Sierra Leoneans in the Diaspora and any potential
foreign investors. It will serve to provide essential
information services to Sierra Leoneans and foreign
companies and individuals in an effort to underpin Sierra
Leone's economic development.
The services will include:
Career and Job opportunities in Sierra Leone
(addressing the challenges of 'brain drain');
Skills
Data Bank
(holds CVs of qualified Sierra Leoneans around the world);
Online
Career Guidance service
(to foster diversity of skills and encourage young Sierra
Leoneans into the labour force);
Project
Announcements
(to increase awareness of Sierra Leonean-led projects);
Investment Information
which outlines the priority sectors of investments and the
relevant facilitating links and contacts.
SLIIP is a portal for Sierra Leoneans, by Sierra Leoneans
and it seeks your active participation in order to meet its
fullest potential. We invite all Sierra Leoneans, both at
home and abroad to:
¤ Submit job vacancies (based in Sierra Leone);
¤ Submit CVs (in Word format) for our skills bank;
¤ Declare interest in becoming a career guidance mentor;
